A film noir shocker, based on the story Nightmare by Cornell Woorlich, in which average Joe Vince Grayson (De Forest Kelley) dreams he murders someone and wakes up to find it may not have been a dream.
This is worth it for the clever plot twists alone.

Assume crash positions! Coming in to low and to fast! Landings always ruin the movie. Oh well. Better luck next time! The takeoff and trip weren’t too bad. Always look at the good side of the trip!

I can't imagine going into a house to get out oft he rain. Sort of guessed the ending early on, but it had decent suspense and an interesting plot.

Just enough to keep me watching, but didn't make any sense.Started off slow, and stayed at that pace; with the ending being a dud. I can't believe how high some have rated this movie. Well to each his own; this is the lowest rating for me thus far.

Lucky to have this little gem as Kelley's first leading role. I knew when I saw the Woolrich as Wm.Irish story it would be good.
Not a top film, I was reminded of the desperation in the best noirs, like D.O.A., but vastly underrated and seen by too few. A few slow parts and detective Kelly's stiffness keeps it from perfection.

My sister said this movie has a remake, but this is the first time I even saw this version. Keeps you guessing almost up till the end. The brother-in-law was a little over the top, worrying about his wife. Strange they would enter someone's house just because it was raining, would not do that in this day and age.

This is a good murder/mystery film. I really enjoyed it and would recommend this film. I downloaded the OGG file and the audio and video were o.k.

I usually don't enjoy 'noir' films, but I'm so glad I decided to give this one a chance. The acting was great; they chose just the right people for the parts. The cinemagraphy was excellent too; they really did a good job setting the moods of mystery and suspense. Lots of fun to watch alone or with friends

I was pleasently surprised and enjoyed this mystery murder and was drawn to DeForest Kelley's performance as the murdererer victim.Watching it in tidbits over a three day period made the suspense even more provocative.

All in all, 'Fear in the Night' is a engrossing noir thriller. DeForest Kelley plays the chump in a murder by proxy scheme. Paul Kelly plays his detective brother-in-law helping to solve the murder. The director does a good job, with some exceptions, and keeps the story tight. If the screenwriting and acting had been better, this would be a classic.
I downloaded the DivX file. The video is of poor quality with noticeable pixelation throughout. Images are only sharp when there is no motion. The audio has noticeable wow and flutter, but dialog is clear enough.
